The long-awaited sequel to Skyrim may finally have a name. According to a new report from The Verge’s Tom Warren, citing sources familiar with Bethesda’s plans, the next mainline entry in the series is called The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Bethesda has not confirmed the title.

The Verge reports that an official name reveal could come as soon as November, possibly timed to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s 15th anniversary on November 11. IGN adds that Xbox’s 25th anniversary is another possible moment. The report cautions that fans shouldn’t expect much beyond a title announcement for now.

IGN, relaying the report, says the game is set in Hammerfell and will be the first in the series built around the history of the Elder Scrolls themselves, letting players uncover the secrets of the ancient artifacts firsthand. Bethesda has also reportedly been showing gameplay of the RPG in recent months.

The rumor isn’t new. Fans pointed to “Sentinel” back in August after Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said she had watched a live playthrough, praised “the scale of the game,” and teased the subtitle with eight asterisks, the same number of letters as “Sentinel.”

The Elder Scrolls VI was first announced at E3 2018 and still has no release date.
